Ready-to-print bound books for BJDs!

The Raven Part 1
The Raven Part 2
The Raven Part 3

This printout makes two copies of The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. Each page creates two identical four-page signatures.

Instructions:

1. Print out Raven_01.

2. Flip the paper over and print out Raven_01 again. You should have a two-sided page with the same thing on each side.

3. Repeat for Raven_02 and Raven_03, creating double-sided pages for each.

4. Trim pages according to the crop marks.

5. Fold pages according to the fold marks.

6. Collate the signatures.

7. Sew signatures together.

Thread-bound Books!

I’ve tested this style of bookbinding a few times and each book has come out better than the last. This method is a little more complicated than my other tutorial, Glue (aka Perfect) Bound Books. It requires a few more supplies that may be harder to come by. Let’s get started!

T-shirt and cute skinny jean patterns for Unoa, and possibly for other slim MSD-sized dolls (with a bit of adjusting, of course).

Dolly Dolly 6 Pattern 1

The key to a successful pixel painting is good planning. You’re going to need: a printer, a pencil, a pen, some little jars with lids, tiny brushes (Round, size 000 or 3/0), Photoshop and possibly a copy machine. And paints! I like Golden fluid acrylics, the consistency is excellent for this type of precision painting. You can use regular, heavy body acrylics, just thin them with water.

1. Choose your sprites…wisely

You can do any size sprite, just keep in mind that a larger, more complex sprite will require a larger canvas and more shades of paint. For starting out I’d say 8-bit is the way to go, you don’t want to burn out trying to complete a larger piece. For this How-To I’m gonna be painting the Green Dragon monster from Dragon Warrior III.
